Justin counsels and represents employers on a broad range of employment matters. Justin has experience advising employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws, including the ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, and Title VII. Justin’s practice particularly emphasizes wage and hour issues under the FLSA and he has a broad range of experience in dealing with wage and hour issues. Justin also has significant experience helping employers appropriately deal with disability issues under the ADA.
Justin represents employer in employment disputes before state and federal administrative agencies and in state and federal court. He has defended employers on issues involving wage and hour claims, employee leave, harassment, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and breach of employment contracts. Justin also prosecutes and defends actions involving non-competition, non-solicitation, and nondisclosure agreements and trade secrets, including seeking immediate relief to prevent violations of such agreements.
Justin has also developed employment policies and practices, implemented and provided employer training programs, and provided counseling on various issues including harassment, discrimination, disability issues, wage and hour practices, employee leave, and employment separation. Justin has experience developing and reviewing employment contracts such as non-compete, non-solicit, and nondisclosure agreements. Justin also strongly believes good counseling prevents litigation and has worked extensively with employers on dispute prevention. Finally, Justin has advised employers on employee hiring, including the use of background checks and compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
While Justin has represented employers in a wide variety of industries, he has significant experience in the healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, and food service industries. Justin has presented seminars on employment issues and always enjoys talking to employers about employment issues.
Beyond employment law, Justin is experienced in all aspects of civil litigation. Justin has represented clients in both state and federal court. Justin assists clients to pursue lawsuits, negotiate and resolve disputes, and defend lawsuits. An area of emphasis for Justin is medical malpractice defense where Justin often assists the firm’s senior litigators in the successful defense of medical liability claims for physicians, hospital and other providers and healthcare facilities. |
