Environmental Law

We represent manufacturers, producers, and agricultural processors in environmental permitting, compliance, and cleanup matters, and in defense of suits based upon the National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act. We are on the cutting edge of efforts to regulate agribusiness and help clients navigate the complicated state and federal environmental regulatory scheme.

The Environmental Permitting practice group represents companies on both compliance and liability issues arising under such programs as the Clean Water Act, NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, underground storage tank regulations, the Clean Air Act, asbestos regulation, and the Endangered Species Act. Our attorneys are experienced and adept in addressing state environmental programs, such as Idaho’s Environmental Protection and Health Act, Hazardous Waste Management Act, Petroleum Storage Tank regulations, and common law environmental actions.  We are also innovators of voluntary environmental strategies such as environmental audits and the Voluntary Cleanup Program. This practice group is integrated into other practice areas, particularly real estate and land use, which often involve transactions and negotiations requiring complex environmental assessments and related matters.
